Players are responsible for bringing all of their football equipment with them to practice each day. In addition, players should bring a large thermos of water, sunscreen (to be applied prior to practice) and bug spray to practice. Please note, LHPW does NOT provide water during practices.
SEASON:
The regular season runs from August 1 through late October, with games being held typically on Saturdays beginning at the end of August. Games will be played either at our home field (Lake Howell High School) or at our opponent's field. The game schedule will be available in late July, prior to the start of the regular season. Please be advised that there is the potential for post season games and/or bowl games to run through the end of October, and possibly even later depending on each team's advancement.
RULES AND EXPECTATIONS:
All LHPW rules and expectations will be provided prior to the start of the season. LHPW will hold a mandatory player/parent meeting the week prior to the start of the season to discuss these rules and expectations. In addition, each team will hold its own mandatory player/parent meeting prior to the start of the season so that the coaches may introduce themselves and may go over their own rules and expectations for the season.
SAFETY FIRST:
All of LHPW's football coaches and team parents are required to be "Heads Up" safety certified. The "Heads Up" program teaches our coaches the correct way to teach blocking and tackling in order to reduce the risk of injuries as much as possible.
